Charley was born on July 25, 1944, in Miami Beach, Florida. He was the son of Mary Scott (Mettenheimer) Peacock and Thomas Allen Peacock. He spent most of his childhood in Haworth, New Jersey, graduating (‘63) from Northern Valley Regional High School (Demarest). He attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, before ultimately earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (‘68) from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he played trumpet in the marching band. He sold commercial printing his entire professional life, initially for Taylor Publishing and later for local, Boise-area printers. It was Taylor Publishing that brought him to Boise where he resided for 40 plus years. In his retirement, he enjoyed his lifetime passion for modeling, especially H.O. gauge trains and 54mm lead figures. He was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan and there was always a cat or two (or three) lurking about.
Charley was married and divorced three times. While he never found a lasting marriage, he never stopped believing that the next one might be it! He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Thomas Allen Peacock, Jr. A sister, Mary Beverly Peacock, predeceased his birth having died in 1943. He is survived by his younger brother, John Scott Peacock, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, his nephew, Scott Peacock (Keri), also of Cheyenne and his niece, Kendall Peacock, of Jackson, Wyoming, and numerous cousins.
Funeral plans are pending. He will be interred in the family plot at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
