

Born on July 3, 1945, in Dubuque, Iowa, Carol lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. She graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School and went on to attend Clarke College (now Clarke University), where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees.
Carol dedicated more than 38 years of her life to teaching special education in the public-school systems of Iowa and Minnesota. Her compassion, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on countless students and families throughout her career.
She was a kind, caring, and truly compassionate woman who was always willing to help others. Her generosity and empathy made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She placed her family at the center of her life, and they were her greatest joy and deepest priority. Carol was a lifelong Catholic, and her faith was an important and steady presence throughout her life. She especially enjoyed reading and was an avid reader throughout her life, finding joy, comfort, and adventure within the pages of books. She also enjoyed classic movies and music, a favorite of hers was Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her siblings, Sue, Linda, Phyllis, Mike (Peggy), and Janet and their families; her husband Bill; her children, John (Mike) and Kaden (Danielle); and two beloved grandchildren.
Carol was cherished by those who knew her, and her warmth and devotion touched those around her. Carol will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and the love she gave so freely to others. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Carol’s name will be added to the prayers of the faithful deceased for the services at St. Mary’s of the Lake in White Bear Lake, Minnesota on May 15-17, 2026. A memorial honoring Carol will be organized by her sons to include a cemetery service and celebration of life on August 7, 2026, in Dubuque, Iowa. Details to follow.
