Miranda Lenn Kesl

Miranda Lenn Kesl a native of Gainesville, Florida passed away on May 19, 2026, of a stroke at the age of 45 in Montgomery, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her father John "Chris" Stewart and her loving grandparents Ella and "Lennie" Kesl. She is survived by her mother Diana Kesl and stepfather Rusty Studstill, brother Sam (Donna) Kesl, sister Allison Kesl, uncle Jim Kesl, aunt Charlotte Kesl, husband of 27 years Jason Matherne, and three beautiful children; Zach Matherne, Sami Jo Bobbitt and Fiona Matherne. She was a proud military veteran right out of high school and was never afraid to try a new career, which she did her entire life! She swam before she walked, loved years of ballet at Pofahl's, books and art. She was a defender of the underdog whether it was a person or an animal. She loved traveling and being in nature outdoors and camping. She loved her children most of all. Her family will gather when she is returned home to Florida and that wild free spirit of hers can find rest in the peaceful waters of the Suwannee River to the Gulf of Mexico.
