Mary Katherine Love

Mary Love (nee Spanos) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years George (Doug) and her children: Julie (Jim) Tesmer, Valerie (Robbie) Fantauzzi, John (Kim) Wash and Amber Love. She was a cherished grandmother to Paige (Alex), Jesseca (Austin), Jared, Sophia, Hannah, Hunter and Colt, and a great grandmother to Oliver.

Mary is also survived by her sister Georgia Sanders of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Andy and Thelma Spanos; her brother, Tommy Spanos; her sister, Grace Scheneman; and her in-laws, George and Kate Love.

Mary was born and raised in Elyria, Ohio. She loved going to the bowling center to cheer on her husband. She enjoyed traveling the country for bowling tournaments and vacations. She loved her children and grandchildren most. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 31st at Vestavia Bowl located at 1429 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia Hills, AL. 35216. Will begin at 6:30pm.

There will also be a celebration of life in Ohio on Saturday August 16th at Brownhelm United Church of Christ, located 2144 N. Ridge Rd., Vermilion, Ohio 44089. Visitation will begin at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Mary’s memory.
