Mary Ellen Bell

Mary Ellen (Nissley) Bell of Homewood, Alabama passed away on May 25, 2026. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother.

Mary was born on October 25, 1932, in Oklahoma.

Mary was a Nursing Assistant and after retiring from Nursing she was an Activity Director at a Retirement Home and a personal caregiver to the elderly.

She faithfully attended Church of the Living Word in Iowa, Church on the Way in California and Mountaintop Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Chris & Sarah (Yoder) Nissley, her brothers, Nelson, John, Ira, Leroy, Ivan and Lonnie Nissley and her sister, Ann Hochstedler.

Mary is survived by her three children, Rick Bell (Sue), LaDonna Rausch, Timothy Bell (Jennifer); her four grandchildren, Daniel and Chyanna Rausch and William and Emma Bell.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 23rd at Mountaintop Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Visitation will be from 2:00-2:30; service will begin at 2:30.
