James Lysle Hendrix

James Lysle Hendrix stepped into heaven on December 20, 2025. He was born in Hartford, AL on March 29, 1946 to Edna Eunice Kelly and James Paul Hendrix. Lysle graduated from Geneva County High School in 1964. He received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy from Samford University and a masters degree from The University of Florida. He was employed by UAB Hospital in Birmingham until his retirement. Lysle enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at the beach fishing and golfing, and in the woods hunting.

Lysle was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, several uncles & aunts. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Hendrix Bunn (David) of Wetumpka, AL, nephew, Jonathan David Bunn (Emily) of Kennesaw, GA, and nieces Laura Bunn Greene (Toby) of Dothan, AL, and Leslie Bunn Warren (Erik) of Tallassee, AL, and his great nieces & nephews Virginia Eleanor Greene, James David Bunn II, Jonathan Mitchell Bunn, Hanna Marie Bunn-Munck, Marion Foster Greene, Tallulah Frances Bea (Lulu) Greene, Margaret Louise (Marlo) Greene and Harper Anne Warren, one aunt, Marian Hendrix of Pensacola, FL, and many cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service in will be held in Birmingham at a later date and a family burial in Hartford, AL, also at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hartford Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
