
Denny grew up and spent most of his life in California, as well as several years in Alabama with his daughters. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Ira Mallory and Georgia Tooley Mallory; his siblings, Lynette Mallory Horn and Gary Mallory; his first wife, Arlene Hocutt; his second wife, Diane Eyre Mallory; and his nephew, Scott Lytle.
He is survived by his daughters, Heather Thompson and Amy Caretti; his step-son, Phil Cunningham; his grandchildren, Mallory Caldwell, Gage Madison, Sarah Miller, Cole Madison, Emma Thompson, and Harley Harbison; his great-grandchildren, Sadie Madison, Mayven Caldwell, Waylon Madison, Everett Madison, Tucker Caldwell, and Wrenlee Miller; his nieces, Michele Moffatt and Gayleen Grigoreas; his nephews, Kevin Mallory and Randel Mallory; and his childhood best friend, Neil Shea.
Denny was known for his kindness and goofy spirit, bringing laughter and warmth to those around him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, at the Hanceville Civic Center, with visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 4:00 p.m. His remains will be laid to rest at Alabama National Cemetery.
