Edwin Reginald Williams, “Reggie,” passed away July 20th at the Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, AL. He was born in Montgomery, AL in 1927where he interrupted a 4th of July picnic. He began working for Whittichen Chemical Company driving a truck and 47 years later he retired as plant manager of Harcros Chemical Company in Gonzales, La. The company had been sold several times during his tenure. He was married for 67 years to Doris Sanford Williams who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children Sandra Thompson, Lorain Cooke, Chris Williams, Steve Williams, and Mark Williams, son-in-law Boyd Thompson, daughters-in-law Deborah Williams and Elizabeth Williams, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Edwin "Reggie" Williams is scheduled for Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Mountain Chapel Methodist Church, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Vestavia, AL 35243. Please come and share stories and memories. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mountain Chapel Methodist Church.
