Alan Pace Estis, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2026, after a recent diagnosis of stage 4 GI cancer. A resident of Birmingham, Alabama, Alan was a deeply loved partner, son, brother, and friend who celebrated life with infectious enthusiasm and a selfless heart.
Alan was born on June 6, 1989, at Montclair Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, to Jeanne McNamee Estis and John Alan Estis. Growing up in Vestavia Hills, Alan enjoyed playing rec league baseball and basketball coached by his father. He later became a car enthusiast, which began with his 1987 T-top Camaro. Alan graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 2008 and then attended the University of Alabama. He returned home to Vestavia after the devastating tornado outbreak in 2011. His interest in cars led him to a career in the automotive parts industry, but music was his true calling. Electronic music wasn't just a hobby for Alan—it was a true art form that allowed him to share his vibrant energy with the world. Those who knew Alan best will remember him as a genuine, kind-hearted soul who embraced every moment to the fullest.
Alan is survived by his loving partner, Lauryn Gallagher; his parents, Jeanne McNamee Estis and John Alan Estis; his sister, Marie Estis Danner, and her husband, Andrew; as well as a large, loving family of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dearly beloved "Chosen Family" of friends who meant the world to him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Bernard McNamee and Mary Florence Miles McNamee; his paternal grandparents, Willis Pace Estis and Essie Vines Estis; his uncles, Patrick McNamee and Jack McNamee; and his cousin, Shay McNamee.
