Candace Dawn McKnight

Candace Dawn McKnight, born August 15, 1978 in Eureka, CA, left this earth due to medical complications on August 12, 2025 at Stanford Medical Facility surrounded by her family and loved ones. Candace brought light and love into any room. She had an infectious smile that could brighten your day. She grew up in Davis, CA participating in multi dance recitals, tennis and many art activities. She was always swimming or playing creative games outside. She loved the out doors and anything related to nature. One of her favorite activities was camping, especially at the beach. Although she loved the outdoors, you always found Candace well-groomed with her make up, hair and nails done. She was very artistic and had a natural flare for fashion.

Candace completed her Associate degree from American River College in business law and accounting. She had her own cleaning business for many years and assisted many with their taxes. She had a great ability to plan and organize.

She leaves behind her devoted son, Isaiah David McKnight-Del Rio, mother, Dana I. McKnight Flentroy, aunt, Melanie I. McKnight Manning, grandson, Zandyr David Rowen, granddaughter, Violet AnnMarie Katara, fiancé, Oscar Gordon Gochez, “little brother” Anthony Copeland and step children, Alicia Del Rio, Alexander Del Rio, Rogelio (Roy) Del Rio along with many friends. She is preceded by her beloved grandparents, David Orson and Irene Grover McKnight and father figure, Robert Lawrence Copeland.

We will be celebrating her life on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Vintage Oaks clubhouse, 7340 Stock Ranch Road, Citrus Heights, CA 95621. This will be an opportunity to share your beautiful memories of her radiant spirit.

We will have a burial service on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd, Oroville, CA 95966, where she will be placed by her beloved grandparents.
