Bonnie Elizabeth Davis Tognazzini, 76, passed away peacefully May 25, 2026 at Stanford Hospital surrounded by love.
Bonnie was born in Munich, Germany on April 5, 1950, to Alvin and Jenny Davis, who preceded her in death, along with her older sister, Kathy Adair, and younger brother, Tim.
She was there in heaven to greet her husband Mark Tognazzini, who passed just 9 days later on June 3.
Bonnie and her first husband, Robert Branco had two children, Brian and Kellie who have many incredible memories from competing in horse shows, to water skiing at Lake Don Pedro.
She is also survived by her sister, Jennifer Westerbeck; niece Brittney; nephews Brad and Dusty; sister Nora Mooney and brother-in-law David; niece Amanda and nephew Matthew; brother Dan and sister-in-law Julie; niece Lisa Gumbiner and nephew Chris Marier; her future son-in law Darren Ghan; daughter-in-law, Audra Branco; and her three beloved grandsons.
Bonnie was affectionately known as “Grammie” and treasured her grandsons, Riley Bishop, Aiden Branco, and Dylan Branco, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She especially loved creating unforgettable memories with them every spring break in Capitola, to spending Thanksgiving at Disneyland.
Bonnie graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1969. Bonnie also went to night school at Santa Clara University to earn her BS in Psychology while raising kids and working full time. She then went on to work for California School Districts for over 20 years.
Bonnie retired in 2013 from her role as Deputy Superintendent of the Morgan Hill Unified School District and was honored as “Educator of the Year.”

Bonnie is self described as an “Army Brat” and will be fondly remembered for her love of traveling the world, entertaining family and friends in her home, and for the unwavering love, devotion, and kindness she shared throughout her life.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Andrea Jaurigue, who cared for Bonnie daily, and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Stanford Hospital for their compassion, care, and support.
With deepest gratitude to Brian, Kellie, Jennifer, Nora, Dan, Ann, Kathy, Andrea and Audra who constantly helped and supported Bonnie over the last 3 1/2 years after her lung transplant - from long stays at Stanford, clinic & doctor appointments to weekend shifts to ensure she was never alone, and the many acts of love and care that meant so much to her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude, a charity Bonnie supported for years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27th from 1pm - 5pm at Bonnie’s home in Gilroy.
