Thomas Eugene Jones

Tom was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, Booga, family member, and friend whose strength, kindness, and wit for those around him touched countless lives. He faced challenges with courage and determination, and inspired those who knew him with his resilience.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a combat veteran receiving a Bronze Star for Valor.

Following his military service, he dedicated his career to public service as a retired Texas Department of Public Safety Narcotics Agent, working tirelessly to protect and serve the people of Texas.

He also served with the United Nations in multiple countries, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service, justice, and helping others around the world.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene Lee Jones, Jr, his mother Elizabeth Jane Walters Jones; his brother Harry Edwin “Eddie” Jones and brother in-law Carlos Stewart.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife Sue Foster Jones; his daughter Jean Zajieck and her husband Jeff; his stepdaughter Kari Foster Cazalas and her husband Marc; his sister Peggy Stewart; his brother John Lee Jones; his cherished grandchildren Barrett, Zoe, Kate, Houston, and Ella who lovingly knew him as “Booga,” a title he treasured above all else; along with extended family and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Tom will be remembered for his integrity, quiet strength, generous heart, sense of humor, and steadfast devotion to his family and his country. Above all he was a loving husband, father, and the very best Booga, creating memories with his grandchildren that will be cherished for generations.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of service, love, and dedication to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
