Sylvia A. Davis, 79 of Pflugerville, Texas, spent her final days bathed in love, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She passed away on June 24, 2026 after a short illness. The following handwritten message was found on her fridge: "When I die, and my atoms become free, I hope they wander the universe I never got to see."
Sylvia was the beloved daughter of John and Marie Davis. She had a distinguished career as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, spending many years caring for patients in the ICU.
Sylvia was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother known for her loving devotion to her two sons and her three grandchildren. She was also known for her love of animals, especially cats, and she was a diligent volunteer with the Pflugerville Animal Shelter throughout her retirement. She fostered countless cats and kittens in her retirement who, it is most certain, welcomed her with love and gratitude when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Sylvia was a Scrabble champion and puzzle aficionado.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (wife Teresa) and David (wife Karen), her grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel (David), and Tyrion (Scott), her brother John Paul, and her sisters, Janet and Janice, and many cherished friends.
Per her wishes, there will be no service. Her ashes will be scattered privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pflugerville Animal Shelter.
Though Sylvia will be deeply missed, her love, kindness, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her and may she find everlasting peace.
