Susan Ann Raabe, lovingly known as Suzy by most who knew her, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away on June 10, 2026, surrounded by her daughters. She was born on December 17, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of John and Sandra Robinson.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Robinson; and her brother-in-law, Roy Leggett. She is remembered with love as a caring sister to Wanda Leggett.
Susan was the devoted wife of Glen Raabe, with whom she shared more than 20 years of love, adventure, and cherished memories. Together, they traveled, enjoyed drag races, and spent time RVing by the lake, simple joys that brought her great happiness.
She was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Heather Roden (Curtis), Holly McNiel (Eric), and Randi Gilmore (John), and beloved bonus daughters Terry Malovets and Kimberly Sheppard (Brandon). Family was at the heart of everything Susan did, and she found immense joy in watching her girls grow into the women they became, whether cheering from the sidelines, enjoying music, or celebrating life’s everyday milestones.
Susan’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Todd Roden (Carmen), Tyler Roden (Josh), Eric McNiel Jr., Michael Sanchez-McNiel (Brook), Dylan Gilmore, Cori McNiel, Alyssa Smith, Justin Malovets, Colby Malovets (Bailey), Haley Sheppard, and Hannah Sheppard; and her great-grandchildren: Todd Roden Jr., Bryce Plentl, and Barrett Smith. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to bring family together.
She attended Killeen High School and built a life marked by dedication and versatility. Susan trained in cosmetology, worked for Rio Airways, spent time as a dog groomer, and ultimately devoted more than 30 years to the U.S. Civil Service at Fort Hood, where she served in DFE, DPW, and DOL.
Susan was known for her strong faith, generous heart, and welcoming spirit. She loved traveling, cooking for others, caring for animals, and gathering family and friends, especially during the holidays. Her faith in Jesus was central to her life, guiding her with strength, kindness, and grace.
A celebration of Suzy’s life will be held Saturday, June 13, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Holland Community Center, 107 West Travis Street, Holland, Texas.
She will be remembered for the love she poured into her family, the joy she brought to those around her, and the way she made everyone feel at home. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
We will miss her every day but take comfort in knowing she is at peace and her love remains with us always.
