Shelly was a loving, devoted & supportive mother to Charlie (Holly) and Stacey Holliday. She was widowed in 1997 after 24 years of marriage to her love, Charles Bruno Holliday. Most of her professional career was dedicated to Bloomfield Hills Schools serving in a variety of roles, ultimately becoming Executive Manager of Human Resources & Payroll. She also served as MSBO CFO and was a board member. Shelly retired in 2013 and moved to Austin, Texas to be closer to her children and most importantly, to be near her grandson Matthew (her “everything”). She continued serving others in a volunteer and leadership capacity through local organizations like the Assistance League of Georgetown, the Georgetown Historic Museum, and the Palace Theater (where her grandson spent many summer weeks attending acting classes and then stayed at “Camp Grandma”). She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all of her family members, friends and colleagues.
Shelly will be laid to rest in Michigan next to her husband Charles and at her request, no formal memorial service is being held. In lieu of flowers and cards, financial support donations can be made in her memory to either one of these organizations:
