Ruth Ann (Luzzo) Suer, lovingly known as Sue to her family and friends, passed away peacefully at her home in Buda, Texas, on June 2, 2026, at the age of 74, following a courageous journey with lung cancer.
Sue was born on January 26, 1952, in Tampa, Florida, to Willard Ryan Luzzo and Ruth Margaret (Malloy) Luzzo. She attended Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School before graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1970.
Sue dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Broward County Property Appraiser's Office, working alongside William Markham. Throughout her career, she earned the respect and friendship of countless colleagues through her hard work, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Above all else, Sue was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Sue’s greatest joy came from gathering with family and friends, sharing meals, laughter, traditions, and the conversations that brought people together.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ruth Luzzo; her brothers, Samuel (Lucille) Luzzo, Willard "Bro" (Helene) Luzzo, James “Jimmy” Luzzo, and John “Jack” (Barbara) Luzzo.
She is survived by her husband, Semi Suer; her daughters, Ryan Vo (Glen) of Buda, Texas, and Monica Zornes (Zach) of Covington, Louisiana; her beloved grandchildren, Luke, Kevin, and Kerry; her sister-in-law, Mary Luzzo, wife of the late James Luzzo; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, researchers, and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center and St. David's South Austin Medical Center for the exceptional care and compassion.
Sue will be laid to rest at Lauderdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Adrian Dominican Sisters, whose mission was dear to her heart.
Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we take comfort in the love she shared, the memories she created, and the lasting impact she leaves behind. Sue’s legacy will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
