He was born on March 14, 1937, in Georgetown, TX to Robert Boyce Crimm and Beulah Fay Whaley.
Though he was born in Georgetown, his family moved to Alamo Heights in San Antonio, TX where he grew his roots. During his time in high school, he participated in the instrumental music club, science club, and played baseball for Alamo Heights High School where he later graduated. He received a degree in Bacterial Science at the University of Texas of Austin and then joined the Army in May of 1959 and served in the Counterintelligence Division until May of 1963.
He found the love of his life, Barbara Gayle Dowd, and married on June 10, 1977. He was successful in his career as an insurance adjuster in the catastrophe division and loved helping people. He enjoyed boating, hunting, reading, golf and loved spending time on the back porch watching the deer. He spent many of summers days floating on Lake Travis in Little Devil’s cove with his family. If you didn’t know an answer to a question, you could always ask Bob, his brain was an encyclopedia. He was always kind and patient with a gentle soul and serving heart. He loved his family and friends dearly and would take the shirt off his back to help anyone. He will surely be missed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Bobby and Kirsten; his stepchildren, Melanie, Scott and Dowd; and his many grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the caring staff at St. David’s Hospital in Georgetown.
