Paula Boltax Daniels of Round Rock, Texas and formerly New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2019, surrounded by family. Paula was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 3, 1934. At a young age, Paula became a licensed pilot in the Civil Air Patrol and played drums in her school band, she enjoyed participating in the art of fencing and skydiving. Paula was an accountant in the day when very few women held that type of job title/position.
Paula was a talented baker, loved to cook and entertain, and threw lavish parties. She was a voracious reader. She also enjoyed sewing and woodworking and had a true love of classical music and opera. She loved traveling both abroad and around the United States.
In the 1960’s Paula was a creator of educational and artistic programs for the Jane Addams Hull House (the foundation of social reform in the US) in Chicago, teaching poor young women to cook, sew and take care of their children. In the 1990’s Paula was the Chairwoman of the Ghostly Galavant (a guided tour of the New Orleans French Quarter). She was a member of Zonta International (an international service organization with the mission of advancing the status of women), a huge supporter of the Symphony/Opera Guild, a member of Fourth Church Christian Science, and a supporter of the American Indian Education Foundation, the Gilbert Sullivan Society and the Georgetown Palace Theatre.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Lee Daniels, her daughters Michele Davenport (husband Keith Rousselle) and Moria Davenport Herrmann (husband John), her grandchildren Jennifer Felix (husband Owen Farrell ) and Rebecca Holland (husband Don), and one great-granddaughter Hailey Rose Holland. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Boltax Liss and nieces and nephews.
The family will greet relatives and friends for a “Celebration of Life” on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Please contact the family for more details.
