Pamela Rosewell Moore, a long time resident of Red Oak and Waxahachie, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023 in Austin, Texas. She was born on November 30, 1943 in Middlesex, England to James William Robert Rosewell and Annie Letitia Gwendoline Cooke.
After formal schooling, the always adventurous Pam immediately began her work in overseas Christian ministries, first in Kenya, then in Holland with Brother Andrew’s Open Doors and subsequently with Corrie ten Boom Ministries, serving as Corrie’s traveling companion and personal secretary in Holland and the United States. After Corrie ten Boom’s death, Pam launched her own ministry, writing The Five Silent Years of Corrie ten Boom and traveling the country speaking about her faith and experiences. It was during these travels that she met and married William Carey Moore in 1986. After a short time living and working in Waco, Texas, Pam and Carey moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where Pam became the inaugural Director of Intercessory Prayer and Curator of the Corrie ten Boom Room at Dallas Baptist University. During this period, Pam published a series of books including the much loved Safer Than A Known Way, as well as If Two Shall Agree: Praying Together As a Couple, a book co-written with her beloved Carey. In addition to her work at DBU, Pam traversed the globe for speaking engagements, ministering with her message of trust in Jesus, and inspiring congregations with spellbinding lessons of faith from her life and work. In the later years of her life, Pam and Carey ran Pamela Rosewell Moore Ministries, created to further her writing and speaking work. They settled in Waxahachie, Texas, and later in Austin. Her entire life and legacy are a testament to her unwavering faith in and service to Jesus Christ.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, William Carey Moore; her sister Sylvia Gwendoline Rosewell-Baker of England; Carey’s children and their spouses Jonathan (Pamela), James (Holly), Stephanie (Markos) and Katherine (Marty); and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, and their children. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother Derek James Rosewell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pamela and Carey Moore Endowed Scholarship at Dallas Baptist University (Dallas, Texas) – to God be the glory.
