Patricia Kennelly, Patricia K. Meadows
Born June 30, 1932 - Houston, Texas
Died April 24, 2025 - Austin, Texas
Padrigin Ni Kennelly, daughter of Edward Joseph Kennelly (Ted) and Lucille Hund Kennelly, and sister to Dorothea Kennelly Adams and Kevin Kennelly, lived her life with boldness, beauty, and a fierce sense of independence. Known also as Patricia Kennelly and Patricia K. Meadows, she was a woman of many names and many roles-each embraced with grace and passion.
Beloved wife of Edward Allen Meadows and devoted mother to four-Patty Meadows Goodwin, Beverly Meadows Foley, Edward Allen Meadows, and Maryleigh Meadows Dejernett-she poured her heart into her family. As a grandmother to eight and great-grandmother to ten, she passed down her warmth, creativity, and trademark spark, becoming a bright thread in the tapestry of generations.
Patricia was more than her titles-she was an artist, a storyteller, a dreamer. Her career in the skies began with TWA, where she was honored with the title of "Miss TWA," soaring across skies with elegance and adventure in her heart. She also worked for Eastern Airlines and concluded her flying career with Braniff Airlines, based in Dallas, Texas. That same spirit of adventure led her to follow her dream of living in France, which she fulfilled with the same courage and determination that defined her entire life. Eventually, she returned home to Austin, Texas, where she continued to live vibrantly and creatively.
She believed in the power of dreams, in the magic of a brushstroke, in the importance of carving her own path. As Jim Croce once sang in "I Got a Name": "And I carry it with me like my daddy did, But I'm living the dream that he kept hid."
That was Patricia-carrying her name with pride, and living the dream fully, openly, and fearlessly.
Her story echoes the timeless lines of Tennyson's "Ulysses": "To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
Even in her final chapters, she remained a seeker, a lover of beauty and possibility.
We remember her through the lives she shaped, the art she created, and the legacy she leaves behind. As Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." Patricia lived the daring adventure. And she lived it well.
May her light continue to guide us, her stories continue to inspire us, and her soul continue its journey-forever free, forever flying.
