Marshall Wagner was a beautiful, kind, and loving child, sibling and friend. We all grieve the loss of such a kind, caring heart. He loved putting a smile on others, and making people feel good. Marshall grew up in San Antonio, and later moved to Austin, with his mother in 2021. Marshall moved back to San Antonio, February 2024, to live with some friends. He worked and lived on his own, then came back to Austin, due to health issues in October, 2024. His jobs ranged from a gas station clerk in Cedar Park, Build-A-Bear in San Antonio and Austin, Game Stop, and Spirit. He was an avid gamer and loved being online, gaming, at all hours of the night. He loved scary movies, collected Chuckie Dolls, Squishmallows, and Build-A-Bear stuffies.
Marshall was born in San Antonio, Texas, on October 29, 2002. He was born with a congenital heart defect and had 3 open heart surgeries by age 4. Marshall passed away on December 2, 2024 at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin due to complications from his heart defect. He was a true heart warrior, who fought to live a normal life, despite his illness and the difficulties it caused. Marshall is survived by his parents, Gina M. Duron and Joe B Wagner III, sister and brother-in-law, Adriana Chavez and Dylan Deatherage, nieces, Olivia and Lily, sister, Jasmine Wagner, grandmother, Ella Wagner and numerous other family members who were close to him. He is preceded in death by his Great grandparents, Grandmother, Ofelia Chavez, grandfather, Sam P. Chavez Jr. and grandfather, Joe B. Wagner, Jr. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.
Marshall touched many people’s lives, including his caregivers, nurses, friends and family. We would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and entire healthcare staff at Dell Children’s Hospital, for providing Marshall with the most excellent care, provided in a most respectful, supportive manner.
Marshall did not want a funeral service. He wanted a celebration of life to be planned. We will be providing family and friends with this information, once it has been finalized. We would also like to thank the Ronald McDonald House for providing our family with the care and support that was needed to be able to be near Marshall. We would encourage anyone wanting to make a donation, in memory of Marshall, to consider the Ronald McDonald House.
