Lisa Maria Ruppert of Round Rock, Texas passed away on April 7, 2023 at the age of 56. She was born on August 31, 1966 in San Gabriel, California where her father was serving in the Army. After his military service was completed, the family settled in Minneapolis, MN and eventually to its suburbs where Lisa graduated from Osseo High School. After graduation Lisa spent a few weeks traveling solo to Great Britain, fulfilling a dream of hers. Anyone who knew Lisa will know that this fascination endured and remember her passion for all things British, especially their television shows. She went on to embark on a retail career in various stores. She especially loved her years managing sales at the Minnegasco Fireplace store in Wayzata, MN.
She proudly bought her first home in Robbinsdale, MN, the home where she started her new role as a mother, becoming a wonderful foster mother for her cousin, Cora Cedeno. After spending a few years remodeling that home, Lisa and Cora moved to a newly constructed home in Buffalo, MN and both lived there until Cora grew into adulthood and started her own family. At that point Lisa moved to Texas to join her parents and sister who were living in the Austin, TX suburbs.
Lisa started another retail career in Texas and enjoyed family and her new network of friends. Then a new challenge arose: she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Lisa continued to work part time as along as her health allowed. She even continued her love for distance running, a passion she had introduced to her sister Angel, and shared with her brother- in-law, Mark. Of course, once the cancer eventually weakened her body, she stopped working, and had to cease her beloved running. However, she still was relatively active and happy for all but the final months of her 10 plus years living with cancer. Being a “nana” brought her immense joy and she made many trips back to Minnesota to see her grandchildren and daughter. Hitting the state fair and Renaissance Festival were also highlights of her visit. In 2019, she even travelled back to Europe for a bucket list Viking cruise that took her to the celebrated Christmas markets of Hungary, Austria and Germany.
Lisa is survived by her parents Rita and Ron Ruppert, her sister Angel (Mark) Ruppert-Stratton, her daughter, Cora Chinander and her partner, Joe.
The family would like to thank Texas Oncology and especially Dr. Darren Kocs for their compassion, care and expertise aiding Lisa so many years until the very end.
It was Lisa’s humble decision to not have a funeral or any services.
