Lillian Louise (Kehrer) Risien

In memory of a life so beautifully lived; a heart so deeply loved! We celebrate the life of a godly servant of the Lord, Lillian Kehrer Risien. Born August 10, 1931 in Beasley, TX, Lil was a simple woman who was affectionately known as Mom, “Sissy”, or Grandma Lil. Lillian Louise Kehrer left this earth on December 6, 2020 at the age 89.

Lil always put her faith, family and service to Lord front and center in her life. Her quiet, warm and gentle demeanor permeated the fabric of both her immediate and extended family. Lil met and married the love of her life, George in 1955 and together they raised 4 children. Lil was a longstanding member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church Parish since 1971 and was instrumental in organizing and faithfully participating in the Women’s Bible Study Group as well as serving on the Alter Guild and Daughters of the King.

Lil was a remarkable mother who spent her lifetime nurturing her children and providing a strong Christian upbringing. Lil never sought the spotlight, but rather chose to quietly encourage, care for and comfort others. Lil’s passions outside of raising her family included gardening, arts & crafts painting and cooking for her family.

Lil’s greatest joy apart from her children was her 10 grandchildren, Matt Trimble, Amanda Trimble Allen, Jenlizbeth Campbell-Risien. Krysta-Marie Risien Rodriguez, Cassidy Risien, Kyle Risien, Jessica Risien, Jake Zagst, Caitlin Stephenson and Travis Stephenson and her 11 great grandchildren. She lovingly found ways to ensure each grandchild felt special from handmade Christmas stockings to homemade chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, hamburgers with toasted buttered buns and the fabulous tea parties with her granddaughters. Many precious memories were made dancing to Meet Me In St. Louis and Grease during overnight excursions at Grandma Lil’s.

Lil is preceded in death by her parents, Vastine and Viva Kehrer, sister, Delores Kehrer Spindler and her beloved husband, George Lewis Risien. Lil is survived by her children: daughter: Roxane Risien Trimble & husband, Bill, son: Cody Lewis Risien and wife Amy, son: Flint William Risien and wife, Beth, and daughter: Michelle “Missy” Risien Severin and husband Eric.
