Leona Isabelle Campbell Tealer was born January 19, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Douglas Campbell (deceased) and Ida Mae Norwood Campbell King (deceased). Leona was the youngest of four siblings - Beverly Jean Campbell (deceased), Douglas Mae Campbell Newton, and Kinnon Eitel Campbell (deceased). Leona’s Christian walk came at a very early age. She was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas and her last place of worship was Mount Olive Baptist Church, Austin, Texas. Some of her Christian ministries were: Sunday School, Choir, Greeter, and wherever needed. She attended public schools in San Antonio Independent School District - Booker T. Washington Elementary, Ralph Waldo Emerson Middle School, and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1966. After graduation, her college education consisted of: Associate Degree in Biology, St. Philips College, San Antonio; University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Houston Community College; Texas Southern University and a Bachelor of Arts Theology Degree Guadalupe Bible College, San Antonio, Texas. Her career path included: Exxon, Houston Lighting and Power (HL&P); W&W Building Maintenance Company, The Alternative Adult Day Care Center, and San Antonio Independent School District, San Antonio. Leona enjoyed family, reading, cheerfully greeting and meeting people, swimming, traveling, and camping. Cherishing her memories are: Son, Jason Campbell Tealer (Nikki), Former Spouse, Bobby Tealer, Sister, Douglas Mae Campbell Newton (Jerome), Nephew, Charles Leonard Clack, Jr. (Tiffany), cousins, extended family and friends.
