Lacy retired from military service in September 1993. He loved being in the military, with 4 years active duty and 23 years in the TAR (Trained Active Reserve) for 19 years.
Lacy was passionate about bringing anyone he met to the Lord. He always had a smile on his face and a servant soul. He offered help to anyone in need, and nobody was a stranger to him.
Following his retirement in September 1993, Lacy worked in the sales department of a then large retail department store and then he worked as Warehouse Manager for an aerial firefighting company, keeping track of thousands of parts and assisting mechanics and managers providing the requested parts swiftly. He created an inventory system, documenting every part, it’s date into and out of inventory in the warehouse and a bin location system.

Lacy strove to follow Jesus’ direction that all believers are to minister to non-believers, as well as other believers, and found numerous ways to achieve this. He always had a special cross penny ready to give to a stranger to get their attention so that he could share with them the message of salvation, planting the seed and then putting the rest in God’s hands. He also became actively involved in the churches his family attended, and due to being in the military and the subsequent moving around every few years, there were many churches. He was an exemplary father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He always wore a smile despite his failing health and increasing immobility from Parkinson's and never complained. Nobody was a stranger to him. Everybody became his friend.
