

She lived the first five years with her mother, sister (Jarri), and brother (Barry Jr.) in Marfa, Texas. Her mother moved the family to Austin, Texas in 1971, which is where they stayed for the remainder of her childhood. She graduated from high school in 1984. Jennifer was a woman of many talents, working as a cook in a restaurant and a catering service, and she later started her own business cleaning houses. Her love for dogs, cooking, traveling, and coloring in adult coloring books was infectious, inspiring those around her to find joy in the simple things.
Samantha Scholl, her only child, and granddaughter, Brooklyn, were her pride and joy.
Her many beloved friends and family will greatly miss her.
She is survived by her mother, Wanda Carr Cates, and stepfather, Loyd Cates, of Smithville, Texas; her sister, Jarri Roberts, of Red Rock, Texas; her brother, Barry Roberts, of Midland, Texas; her daughter, Samantha Scholl; and granddaughter Brooklyn, all of Austin, Texas; her uncle, Bob Carr, of Valentine, Texas; and numerous cousins.
