It is difficult to express the love and admiration I had for Lois. Although she was a very private person, she became a  wonderful mentor and friend to me over the years and I will miss her. I will always keep her in my heart and remember the good times we shared over the years.

Lois was a dear friend and valued colleague of the IBR family at TCU. She made our lives better, both personally and professionally. After knowing her initially during the 1970s as a colleague and friend of Dr. Saul Sells while he directed the IBR, she later retired from her senior administrative position at NIH and later agreed to join the IBR as my Associate Director when I struggled to lead the IBR. She was a mentor to me as well as our entire scientific staff. A strict and proper lady of high principles and integrity, she improved our collective efforts in the field of addiction treatment and recovery.
