

Gerald Richard Miller, of Live Oak, Texas passed away on August 1, 2024 at the age of 72. He was born on August 18,1951. Gerald, also known as Jerry, was the third child of John Clarence Miller and Ethel Mae Miller and grew up on Sawyer Road in the house his parents built in Rockford, Illinois.
Jerry graduated from East High School in Rockford in 1969 and served in the United States Army from May of 1971 to May of 1973 as a Medical Specialist and received an Honorable discharge ranked as a SP4.
As a soldier while stationed at Fort Sam Houston in Texas, Jerry met Rosie Fernandez, and after a long courtship they were married in Devine, Texas on August 21, 1976. The newlyweds shortly thereafter started a family with four daughters.
Jerry was a natural born salesman and worked for many different medical supply companies throughout his life. He enjoyed playing golf, camping, grilling, and spending time with his furbabies, Maddie and Roscoe.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence, his mother, Ethel and his wife, Rosie.
He is survived by his daughters, Audrey Miller, Feliza Miller, Tracy Carroll, and Jessica Miller. His grandchildren, Anakin Spangler, Riley Carroll, Colt Carroll, and Kealey Carroll, his son-in-law, Jonathan Carroll, his sisters, Frances Saylor and Judy Bartlett, along with his brother, John Miller.

Jerry loved animals and most of his fur companions throughout his life, were adopted through rescues and animal shelters. He was also very passionate about supporting the Wounded Warrior Project.
