

Francis Peter Tisdale, of Round Rock, TX, passed away on December 4, 2023. Pete, as he was known, was born on September 13, 1938, to Francis Marion and Frances Jeannette Tisdale in Oneonta, NY. He attended Canaseraga High School and graduated as class Valedictorian (1956).
During his time as a teenager, he enjoyed playing soccer, basketball and baseball. As the Canaseraga High School soccer team co-captain, he led the 1955 team to the Section 5 Class D title. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America. He and his brother, Richard, became the first brothers in Canaseraga history to become Eagle Scouts at the same time. He also played the trumpet in the high school band.
He graduated from Syracuse University in 1960 with a Mathematics degree. He was vice president of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He also met his love, Carol Ann Schnirel, while attending college and they married in 1961.
After college, Pete was employed by IBM for 31 years and worked as a manager in the IT department. He worked at various offices in New York state, Rochester, MN, and Austin, TX. After retiring from IBM, he became an instructor at Austin Community College teaching various IT related courses for 10 years. He had a passion for teaching, which was evident in all instructor evaluations completed by his students.
While Pete was not working or teaching, he enjoyed traveling with his family, playing golf, researching family genealogy, and having regular social gatherings with friends, where he played cards and dominoes. He was a member of Sertoma and was also a Treasurer for Cross and Crown Lutheran church. He was an avid coin collector and had a good sense of humor. Pete always had his own word pronunciation, which made a family game of Scrabble very entertaining!
Pete is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol, and his children, Tim (Ellen) Tisdale, Judy (David) Rolbiecki, Amy (Zane) Lewis, Tom (Natalie) Tisdale as well as his brother, Robert (Eva) Tisdale and grandchildren, Brianna, Carson, Haley, Katey, Madison, Maya, and great granddaughter Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard (Janet Hertel).
