

Migrant work took the large family of 12 to Fisher, Minnesota where he spent his formative years.
He graduated from Fisher High School. Attended Morehead State College and the University of Texas at Austin.
Not having enough to continue college he enlisted in the US Army thinking he would serve his country in the Vietnam war. Living up to his middle name he served his entire stint in Panama, Military Intelligence Division in civilian status.
Fernando made a 30 year career with Southwestern Bell now AT&T. It was there that he made numerous lifetime friends.
Fernando was so inclusive and never discarded people. He so loved, loved his conjunto music and was quite a good dancer.
He was the oldest of 12 to Fortunato Villegas and Dora Muniz Villegas who predeceased him in death as well as brother, Andres Villegas. He faithfully stood by his parents.
Surviving him is his wife, Elizabeth S Villegas. His step-children, Elizabeth G de Anda (Rene), Steven Gonzales (Tamela Cole) and Marina Gonzales (Mia, furbaby).
His 10 surviving siblings include Sylvia Villegas, Marianito Villegas (Pam Laager)Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Manuel (Kim) Knoxville, Tennessee, Jose Luis (Linda)Manchaca, David Villegas (Cheryl)Hastings, Minnesota, Beatriz Aceves(Vicente) Cedar Creek, Hilda Medina (Abel) Cotulla, Tencha Valle and Raquel Jensen (Randy), both of Austin and Pablo Villegas (Rita), Kyle, Texas.
