Donna Lee Holman

Donna’s parents and two older brothers predeceased her as well as her partner of almost 40 years, Mary Rostrom. She is survived by her sister-in-law and nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, as well as devoted friends and neighbors and long-term caregivers. She served the State of Texas for 30 years in the Department of Transportation before enjoying a long retirement. Donna and Mary were members of Metropolitan Community Church in south Austin for many years.

Donna loved telling stories about her years growing up on the family farm in west Texas. The youngest child and only girl, she spent many hours in the country with her dog. She loved dogs her whole life, the most recent being Brandi, a Pomeranian mix. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, baking and watching TV.

Donna’s family would like to thank all of the caregivers over the past five years who made it possible for Donna to stay in her home, which was her most fervent wish.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA.

Donna did not wish for a formal memorial service. Her and Mary’s ashes will be interred at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, TX.
