

Born on December 26, 1943 to Amelia Gossmann Villarreal and Francisco Migoni Flores, Mrs. Migoni-Ryan came to live in San Antonio in 1948, resided in Germany from 1971 - 1981 before moving to Austin.
She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake High School, Trinity University (with a Bachelor of Science Degree), Southwest Texas State University (with a teaching certificate), Episcopal Theological Seminary (with a Master of Religious Studies) and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (with a Master of Divinity Degree).
Coral Migoni-Ryan lived a life dedicated to service, education, and faith. She taught an assortment of subjects throughout her teaching career, including math, science, and Spanish, across various educational institutions: St. Edward’s University, Austin Community College, St. Louis King of France Catholic School, San Antonio Independent School District, and with the U.S. Department of Defense in Germany. She later served as a chaplain providing spiritual care at St. David’s Hospital, Brackenridge Hospital, Capital Hospital, and Austin State Hospital. Her final professional role was as Bilingual Senior Ministry Coordinator at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, where she supported parish families and ministries. Over the years, she also worked as a translator, researcher, parole officer, business owner and loving homemaker, and contributed to her community as a board member of the Pediatric AIDS League and a member of the Small Christian Community Core Group.
Coral Migoni-Ryan was a lover of nature, and a person filled with wisdom who gave her entire life to her family and to God. She was the beloved mother of Robbe Wainer, Camille Wainer, Kristopher Freeman and Kaara Ryan; grandmother of Zoe, Olivia, Cora, Damien, Aurora and Grace; and great- grandmother of Emerald.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Austin and caregivers, Analese, Lauren, and Rhiannon for their loving care and support.
Service of Remembrance will be held at 5:00 p.m. on January 27, 2026 in the chapel of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. All family and friends are invited.
Divine Liturgy and interment will be held in a private ceremony on January 29, 2026, at Assumption Cemetery, with Chorbishop Don Sawyer of Our Lady's Maronite Catholic Church officiating. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on January 31, 2026, followed by the Memorial Mass at 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady's Maronite Catholic Church, 1320 E 51st St., Austin, Texas 78723. Both services are open to the public.
A Rosary Service will be held at 10:15am on February 2, 2026 , followed by the Memorial Mass 11am on February 2, 2026 in the chapel of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. Both services are open to the public.
