Carol Bersan, (82), passed away peacefully from Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia on 18 February 2019 in the arms of her husband, Bob. She was born in Diller, NE to John and Mildred Romisch, who proceeded her in death. She grew up in Diller and Lincoln NE.
She attended the University of Nebraska, and she graduated from Texas State University.
Carol came to Austin in 1975, and she worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs from 1977 to 1999.
Carol met the love of her life, Bob Bersan, in 1982. They were married for 35 wonderful years.
Carol loved travelling. She and Bob enjoyed 18 ocean cruises and 1 German, river cruise. She saw all the US states except Oregon, Alabama and Mississippi.
Playing tennis, bowling, avid quilting and country dancing made her especially happy.
Carol is survived by her husband, Bob Bersan, brother, Don Romisch, sister, Bonnie Meyer (Robert), daughters, Cynthia Richmond, Janice Valdez (Ed), Peggy Richmond, and son, Michael Richmond, step-daughter, Missy Bersan. The family is deeply grateful for the faithful caregiving of Beatrice Flores. Heart to Heart Hospice, and Seton Hays Hospital, especially Dr Chaudhry, who provided excellent medical support.
A future graveside, memorial service and burial are being planned.
