Carey was a very charismatic man, blessed with the ability to love unconditionally. He was a teacher, philosopher, and pursuer of truth, astrologer, cat lover, spiritual seeker, author, lecturer, traveler, Reiki Master, Korean War Veteran (Navy), volunteer, and a perpetual student of life.
His Master of Business degree was from Georgetown University, and he held two B.A. degrees. He spoke five languages, and held a Masters in Astrology. The achievement he was most proud of was the book he wrote after 40 years of research, titled The Ancestry of David Bracewell.
He loved the outdoors and the oceans, and spent many happy hours at and on the sea. He loved life and found beauty, joy and contentment in all things.
He was a Prayer Chaplain at Unity Church of the Hills, and spent hours in prayer and meditation during his last days.
He is survived by his wife Nada Bracewell, his children Susan & Mark Lyons, David & Michele Bracewell, Jana & Robert McElroy, Gehan (Gigi) & Chris Bell, Valerie & Chris Wilson, and his sister, Pattie Kimple, nine nieces and nephews, many cousins. He was grandfather of nine children and a grand dog. He was also a proud great-grandfather of two.
His life was spent in deciphering the mysteries of the world, in awe of the possibilities, and excited about the prospects.
May he rest in peace.
