Adam Scott Day, beloved husband, dad, best friend, and brother to many, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 29, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer fought surrounded in love by his wife Mary Jane, daughter Ashley, Sister-in-law Laury Todd Toungate, and many family and friends.
Adam was born on February 19, 1965 in Duluth, Minnesota to Kevin Frederick Day and Sharon Ivy Doheny. He spent most of his adolescent and teenage years with his grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Day in Edina, Minnesota, where he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow.
Adam attended Edina High School and The University of Minnesota, Duluth, before graduating from The University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1987 with a B.A. in International Relations, Marketing and Economic Concentration. While at The University of Wisconsin, Adam was a Brother in Alpha Iota of Chi Psi "The Lodge" fraternity.
Adam met his future wife, Mary Jane Todd, in 2000 at a newspaper conference in Dallas, Texas, and soon relocated to the sunny Lone Star state, where he developed a love of horses and everything Texas. Adam and Mary Jane married on September 3, 2005 on a hillside overlooking Lake Tahoe, and the two spent more than 25 happy, inseparable years together.
Adam was a caring, compassionate and joyful man, who never met a stranger without a smile, and always put others before himself. He loved his wife and family without reservation. His legacy of kindness lives on and he is dearly missed.
A special thank you to Hospice Austin, Adam's at home care team and the nurses and staff at Hospice Austin's Christopher House. A Celebration of Life for Adam will be planned at a later time. Donations can be made in Adam's name to Hospice Austin's Christopher House. www.hospiceaustin.org
