Thomas Vogt

Tom graduated from Memphis State University in 1966, receiving his commission in the USAF through AFROTC. After graduating pilot training at Laredo AFB in 1967, he was assigned to F-4s. He proudly served his country with two combat tours in Southeast Asia, first in the 559th Tactical Fighter Squadron, then in the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron. After his combat tours he was assigned to the 614th TFS in Torrejon , Spain, & as an instructor pilot for the German Air Force with the 20th TFS at George AFB, California. Tom was awarded two distinguished flying crosses & 16 air medals during his Air Force career,

After his Air Force career he was Vice President of Reeves Transportation Company in Calhoun, Georgia, until he returned to his first love, aviation. He flew in the commercial aviation industry until his retirement from Federal Express in 2013.

Capt. Vogt will be buried with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on 4 May 2018 at 2:00pm.
