Bobby was the son of the late Mr. Hewlett C. Jones Sr. and the late Mrs. Willie Lane Jones. He was born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia and was the youngest of three boys.
Bobby was a World War II Veteran and member of the American Legion Post 29 in Marietta, GA where he and his wife, Theresa, enjoyed dancing with many of their friends on Friday nights.
When Bobby returned home from World War II, he bought a lot on Lake Carroll, build a home where he and his late wife, Betty Ashmore Jones, lived for 57 years and where they raised their 3 daughters. They taught their children and many of the children's friends to waterski on Lake Carroll. They shared many other great memories in that home and on the lake. Bobby was married to Betty Ashmore Jones from August 22, 1953 until her passing on December 17, 2010.
Bobby had worked as the Assistant Post Master at Carrollton's US Post Office for 40 years. He was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton and held several positions over the years. Bobby and his late wife, Betty, raised their 3 children in that church where he taught Sunday School and escorted many of the church's field trips.
Bobby was also a long standing member and volunteer for 67 years for the Carrollton Civitan Club and a Volunteer with 2,700 hours at Tanner Medical Center Auxiliary. He was a long term supporter of Saint Judes, the AARP and the National American Legion.
Bobby is survived by his second wife, Theresa Asano Jones, who he married on March 10, 2018 and resided in Dallas, GA. He is also survived by his daughter, Terry Jones Phillips (Chuck Phillips) and their children, Rip Phillips (Kelsi) and Kip Phillips; daughter, Susan Jones Edwards (Preston Edwards) and their children, Brooks Edwards (Courtney), Joshua Edwards (Julie) and Mary Beth Jones (Phillip); daughter, Janet Brown (preceded by her late husband, David Brown) and her children, Alex Brown, Garrett Brown and Logan Brown (Avery); great-grandchildren: Landon Edwards, Carter Edwards, Meri Gammon Edwards, Briley Edwards, Molly Claire Edwards, Sawyer Jones, Presley Edwards, Delilah Jones, Henry James Edwards, Annalee Jones and Evelyn Jones; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
