Melissa K. Meder of Roswell, GA, age 64, died on Monday, May 2, 2016. Melissa will be remembered for her generous spirit and sharp intellect. A native of Bay City, Michigan, Melissa attended the University of Michigan Ann Arbor where she graduated summa cum laude in 1973. Following a distinguished career in corporate finance and international tax as a partner of Deloitte & Touche and a consultant and executive in Atlanta, Melissa retired early to pursue interests in art, psychology and creativity. She served on the boards of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence, the YWCA of Greater Atlanta and as a founding board member of Atlanta Women’s Network and supported a number of local charities. She was married for 23 years to Martin R. Meder who died in 2007. Melissa is survived by her stepson, Martin Gunther Meder, her sister, Susan Caroline Valenzuela, her brothers, John Howard Thomas (Akiko) Knobloch and Gregory Haines Knobloch, her nieces Lisa (Michael) Heidan, Sara (Taylor) Prengel-Baumgartner and her nephew Jon Prengel. Friends and family will celebrate Melissa’s life in a private ceremony.
