Lois F Rocek

Lois Freeman Rocek, born April 12, 1934 to George C. and Irene Ochs Freeman passed away May 4, 2017 in Columbus, GA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Rocek; parents, two sisters, Ellen (Lawrence) G. Papineau of Lansing, IL and Maude (John) Samide of Tulsa, OK. Lois, graduate of SDSU, member of Phi Beta Kappa sorority, retired from a long career as a Resource Specialist with the San Diego Unified School District in 1996. She was a longtime member of the Vagabonds, Vixens, and BPOE Elks Lodge in Chula Vista, CA. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and meeting new people.She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Brad) Grebner of Pekin, IL; son, Michael (Cindy) Riehl of Opelika, AL; stepdaughters, Deborah (Brad) Stoddard of Murrietta, CA and Dennise (Ken) Faulkner of San Diego, CA; sister, Laura (Ralph) Heathcote of St. Louis, MO; brother, Carl (Deb) Freeman of Tampa, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations in Lois Rocek’s name to the charity of your choice.
