Karen Judith Wydner was born on March 9, 1942 in Dover, New Jersey. She was a hairdresser for many years and owned two shops in Madison and Bernardsville, NJ. She later worked for Allied Signal which became Honeywell before retiring.
Karen joins her husband, LeRoy R. Wydner; her mother, Evelyn Blanch; her father’s Melvin Scott and James Blanch; her sister, JoAnn DeFelice; her brother Jerry Blanch; and her grand-children, Hope and Eternity Merritt, in heaven. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Richie Merritt; and her son, Douglas Wydner; her grand-children, Kiyana Davis, Jalen Davis, Ariel Merritt, and Brayden Merritt; her brother and sister-in-law, James and Lena Blanch, as well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was always known for her uplifting spirt, kind heart, and giving nature. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, but above all a great human being.
A memorial service will take place at The Rosenwald School Community Center, 4410 Old Cherokee Street, Acworth, GA 30101 at 2pm and be officiated by Pastor Jerome Dial of Vision Faith Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at 4385 Walforde Blvd. Acworth, GA 30101 for her grand children’s education fund. Anyone that was close to Karen knew that her grandchildren meant everything to her and she would do anything for them to see them succeed. The legacy that she has built will not only live on through them, but many others. She will forever remain in our hearts and be missed greatly.
