

Illinois-Gerald Arthur Williams (Jerry) of Riverton, Illinois, passed away February 11, 2021, in Rydal, Georgia, at the age of 56. He was born April 19, 1964, in Jacksonville, Illinois. The son of John and Julia (Shoemaker) Williams. He married Lori (Kanturek) Williams on October 7, 2000 in Springfield, Illinois. He graduated from Waverly High School and served his country in the United Stated Marines. He worked may different jobs until settling in with the Illinois Department of Transporation for the past 19 years.
Jerry played softball when he was younger and his love of sports never faded. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and coaching his son in baseball and watching his daughter compete in tumbling and trampoline. He was a very devoted husband and father. He was a stranger to no one and would always help those in need.
Jerry is survived by his wife Lori Williams of Riverton, 2 children Hunter and Boston Williams, a sister Cindy (Williams) Custer of South Carolina, Niece Audrey (Custer), Jonathan Spear of Nashua, New Hampshire, Nephew David (Kelsey) Lamb of Burke, Virginia and many nieces and nephews on his wifes side of the family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Cole Custer and his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Kanturek.
A memorial mass for Jerry will be at 11:00 am on Saturday Feb 27, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church, 112 North 6th Street, Riverton, Illinois with Father Paul as Celebrant. A celebration of Life will be held in Jerry’s honor from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Outlaw Athletics, 4345 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707. Memorials may be made to charities of your choice. Arrangements are by Neptune Society of Atlanta, Georgia.
