Dennis Joseph Boucher

He graduated from Laconia High School 1966. He then served proudly for 8 years in the US Army, ASA unit, attached to the 82nd Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, NC; the 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, South Korea; the 7th Infantry Division, Ft Ord, CA along with assignments in Okinawa, Japan and Ft. Devens, MA.

After leaving the US Army, he had multiple business positions leading to becoming Co-Owners with wife Mary and friends of L&M News, Magazine and Book Distribution Company in New Bern, NC. for 10 years. Upon the selling of the company, Dennis started BASCO Services, Inc which branched out to BASCO Windshield Repair and included BASCO Sandwich and Catering here in Southern Pines. Many people thought Basco was his last name, but it reflected the close relationship between the members of the family. It was the acronym for Boucher and Sons Company.

He was active in New Bern Civitan Club serving as an officer at the local and district levels. Actively worked with the Special Olympics Craven County year-round at various athletic competitions and had continued to support the Special Olympics Moore County since moving

to this area in 1991.

He is survived by his wife Mary Emond Boucher of 49 years and three sons, four sisters and aunt. Son Joseph Boucher, wife Vicki and daughter Rose, Wilmington, NC.; Scott Boucher and foster son Matthew Bass, Southern Pines, NC.; and Paul Boucher and wife Tara, daughter Courtney and son Chase, Concord, NC. Sisters Beverly Day and husband Gary, Crystal River, FL.; Theresa Perkins and husband Mike of Winnisquam, NH; Susan Williams and husband Eddie, Belmont, NH; Sally Kaplan and husband Alan, St. George, UT and numerous nieces and nephews. Aunt Johnnie Emond and her extended family, Conyers, GA.

Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Christian Fellowship Church, 425 Magnolia Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374 on Feb. 3rd at 2 PM, reception to follow. Dr. Matthew Stillman will officiate the service.
