Clayton E. “Bud” Kraiss Jr. of Savannah, GA passed away on Thursday, April 27th 2023 at the age of 78 years old. He was born on July 28th, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA where he grew up in Feasterville, PA at 1815 Midfield Rd.
Bud graduated from Neshaminy High School, and attended both Penn State and Temple University. He worked in HVAC Sales. He served in the US Army (1965-1968), and was actively involved with the Wellsboro Fire Dept, Lower Southampton Fire Dept, American Legion Post 81, and AMVETS Post 34.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl E. Kraiss; mother, Violet Kraiss; and father, Clayton E. Kraiss, Sr.
He is survived by his son, David C. Kraiss; daughter in law, Caira Kraiss, granddaughter, Willow Kraiss, grandson, Kraiss, and partner, Glenda Strong.
Bud was known for his huge sense of humor, desire to play jokes and love for his family. With his late wife, Janice L. Kraiss, Bud became a father to their son, David in 1992 and a grandfather in 2019. He was an uncle to Kelly and Lacy Kraiss and a brother in law to Kathy Kraiss. Bud spent his later years in Palm Bay, FL, where he saw his brother Carl E. Kraiss frequently and most recently Savannah, GA, where he was comfortably retired. He spent his retired days talking to his son David, traveling and enjoying his time with his partner, Glenda Strong and her cousin Reba Coolidge. Glenda lovingly and willingly took care of Bud, and the Kraiss family is forever grateful for her commitment to him. Bud will be missed for many things; his desire to talk to and spend time with family and friends, his radio-like voice and his presence. Bud enjoyed being a father and a grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday May 20th, 2023 at 2pm at Riverside Community Church, 239 Columbia Ave, Horsham, PA 19044.
