The velvet hammer. I was fortunate to work with Carey and call him my friend. I learned many important life lessons from him, the most important.....being be the most prepared and the best dressed person in the room. I fondly remember Friday night dinners at his Mother's home. He also prodded me to buy a pair of pea green shoes and on the way out he had bought the companion pastel blue. We had laughs, we butted heads, we danced......we lived. What a ride it was. Carey , will be missed what a great and giving person. What a pleasure to know and laugh with.

Carey...Talented, faithful and true to his profession, and a very caring and kind gentleman.  It was a great honor to have worked with him.  He will be missed.

I had my first appointment with Carey at the age of 24 and my last at the age of 62.  He was a person of depth, the best person to talk to about books and film, a true Anglophile.  Despite an acerbic wit, he couldn't hide his big heart.  The photo of his clip box made me break down.  All the special conversations we had while I held it in my lap.  I love you, Carey. 

Just found out the sad news. Cary cut my hair back at Riches. I remember when he first opened at Phipps.  I loved seeing him and Vi.  My sister had just recently started seeing him on West Paces. Such a talentes man to many. From just littlw ole me to many many Hollywood starlites. RIP dear friend. You can cut mom's hair like you used to. 

I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of Carey Carter. Carey leaves a legacy of genius and generosity. He truly illuminated our community.

Carey was always there for us during the good times and the bad. An amazing individual with a huge heart, one that will never be replaced. 
Thank you for all that you did for our family over the years. I wish we had more time together. 
However, so many great memories still engraved in my mind, ones that I'll never forget. From shaving my hair off ( I'm not sure if I ever forgave you for that  ) to the catwalk, to making Christmas feel real for my children. You played such a huge role in my life. You will be missed Carey. I love you.

Carey Carter was such a good person.He was kind,compassionate,interesting civic-minded,smart and Oh,So Talented! He touched so many lives...from the early days at downtown Richs (where I first knew him),then Phipps and,lastly, the nice house in Buckhead.He was a true success story! He will be sorely missed.
