Alta Hoon Vanderhooft

Alta “Kay” Hoon Vanderhooft passed away October 6, 2017 in Blue Ridge, GA. Born in Chesterhill, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Goldie Hoon. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Lee and brother, Jim Hoon. She and John spent many years together in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains where she enjoyed her Church, reading, sewing and ceramics. She is survived by her companion, John Garceau of Cherry Log, GA; son, John Thomas (Tana) Vanderhooft of Gretna, LA; grandson, Joshua K. (Amy Bruno) Vanderhooft of New Orleans, LA; great-granddaughters, Scarlett Grace and Juliette Leigh Vanderhooft of New Orleans, LA; sister, Marjorie Sebring, of Athens, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Saturday Oct. 21 at 2:00 PM at the Cherry Log Christian Church, 1149 Cherry Log St., Cherry Log, GA 30522. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the church in her honor.
