Norbert Lannoye Frickelton (Lon) was born February 25, 1936 in Tacoma, WA and died on January 3, 2025 in Santa Maria CA.
He spent his early years in Tacoma, moving to Gig Harbor, WA as a teenager. He graduated from Peninsula High and attended the University of Washington.
He was drafted into the US Army and spent 2 years in New Mexico serving his country. After discharge he returned to the Northwest and joined United Airlines as a ticket agent.
After his marriage to Barbara Ann Enochson, they moved to Santa Maria, CA where he worked for United at Vandenburg Air Force base until his retirement.
Lon and Ann, his wife, belonged to a Santa Maria Country Club where they enjoyed golfing and a rich social life with friends. They made several trips to Europe, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, and New England to see the fall colors.
They loved their many cats over the years.
Lon’s Parkinson’s disease made golfing too difficult after a while. He remained intellectually active with reading and adult coloring books. He loved his classic Datsun 280 ZX with the license “LONS ZX”.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Frickelton and siblings Tonia Markovich, Michael George and Maggi Michels. He is also survived by 2 sons from a previous marriage, Mark and Steven Mabie.
He will be greatly missed.
