Shirley Anne Hendrickson of Windsor, Colorado passed away on March 2, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born on July 21, 1929 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to Ebba and Lars Lodvee. Most of her youth was spent in Moline, Illinois graduating from Moline High School. Following her graduation, she worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company as an operator and was later promoted to Supervisor.
On May 11, 1949 she married Robert Hendrickson, her husband of 75 years. She gave birth to five children and became a full-time homemaker. After her family was raised, she attended courses at the University of Illinois at Springfield, Illinois.
Her husband's career required them to move regularly within Illinois where they resided for 70 years prior to moving to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1999.
Shirley was actively involved in many organizations throughout Illinois including Memorial Christian Church, American Red Cross, Project NOW, Girl Scouts, The Lincoln Law Office, The Old Illinois State Capitol and Frank Lloyd Wright-Dana Thomas House. After moving to Fort Collins, she volunteered at the Avery House. She was also a member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and enjoyed playing bridge and golf with many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Arlene Yerby of Morton Illinois and a son, Scott Hendrickson of Buffalo Creek, Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Bob, sons Mark Hendrickson (Celeste) of Littleton, Colorado, Jeffry Hendrickson (Sheila) of Camarillo, California, Bradley Hendrickson (Jane) of Hanahan, South Carolina, daughter Tracy Kacmarsky (John) of Windsor, Colorado, sister, Linda Ovall of Danville, Illinois, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
