Shirley was born in Waco, Georgia and grew up in Bremen, Georgia.
Shirley sang with her Cash sisters in addition to “Sacred Heart” musical quartets. Music was always an essential part of her life.
She was employed as a seamstress until retirement.
In 2009, Shirley moved to Colorado where she resided with her daughter, Shirlene Morris and family.
Shirley leaves behind her daughters, Shirlene Morris and Sandy Hagge, grandchildren Brittany Connolly and Joe Morris, great grandchildren Hunter Joseph Connolly, Riley Rose Connolly, Joseph B.J. Morris III, Jackson Cash Morris and Lincoln Boone Morris. She also leaves behind her nieces Sylvia Fincher, Joan May, Cathy Burnett, and Denice Phillips, nephews Bernard Willoughby, Dennis McBrayer, Durrell McBrayer, Randy Norton and David Norton.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Essie and Jim Cash, son-in-law Joe Morris senior, sisters Jewell Cash McBrayer, Dorene Cash Entrekin, Mable Cash Gaddis and Stella Cash Norton, niece Sandra Calhoun, nephews Duane McBrayer and Johnny Norton and her best friend Ruth Barry.
Shirley loved the Lord, her church family, and praying for others.
There will be a Celebration of Life at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church from 2:00 - 3:30 on February 16th.
There will also be a service in Bremen, GA to be announced at a later date.
Memorial Donations may be sent to St. Ambrose Pastoral Discretionary Fund (to support community outreach) in her name.
