Ronald “Ron” Boggs was born on Christmas day, 1944, in Charles City, Iowa. Ron was a graduate of the Linn Mar High School class of ’62 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in electronics from DeVry University in Chicago. In the early 1970s Ron headed west to begin a new life chapter in Denver, Colorado.
Ron had an interesting and varied life with numerous career pursuits, including a stint as a police officer, computer programmer, artist/instructor, and long career as an electronics technician. He was a small business owner and HAM radio operator – at one time Ron even had his own radio program in Montana. He was an active outdoorsman and treasured the time he spent exploring the Rocky Mountains.
Ron was diagnosed with M.S. in his 30s, and stubbornly refused to allow it to rule his life. He managed his M.S. and pursued life on his terms – never slowing down, never submitting to the disease. Ron bravely navigated through decades with M.S., until the very end of his life.
Ronald passed away on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, who will warmheartedly remember his sense of humor, wit, and ability to master those things he set out to conquer. Ron’s ashes will be secreted away in his beloved Rocky Mountains, per his wishes, with no formal ceremony.
