Bob was born August 5, 1941 in Cañon City, Colorado, son of the late Anthony & Helen Governski. He graduated from Lakewood High School, and Colorado School of Mines in 1965 with a major in Metallurgical Engineering. During his college years, Bob lived at home, worked for the Rio Grand Railroad in their Ice House during the summers , joined ROTC, and played football on a scholarship to pay for his college education.

After graduating from the Colorado School of Mines, Bob had to go into the Army and served for almost 2 years, mostly in Vietnam Nam. But also served by having to jump into the Dominican Republic as a member of the 82nd Airborne. After separating from the army, Bob worked for Kennecott Copper in Arizona before becoming a sales engineer for Denver Equipment Company. He then left the mining industry and worked for George Meyer’s Manufacturing, followed by Wilfley Engineered Products CO. . In 1984, he ventured out to start his own company called Denver Process Equipment Co. and in 1985 changed the name to Camber Process Equipment Co, when he was joined by his partner, Mike Jensen. While with George Meyers, he moved to Los Angeles and was on the Board of the California/ Nevada Soft Drink Association , married Coke, and moved to San Francisco, CA. They moved back to Colorado to work for Wilfley in 1978. While working for Wilfley & his own company, Bob was on the planning committee for the MPD ( Mineral Processing Division) of the Society of Mining Engineers. In2002, being rather adventuresome, Bob & Coke decided to try a new business. Bob sold his half of Camber Process Equipment Company to his partner, moved to San Diego and opened Crystalix of San Diego. After losing everything in the California wildfires of 2003 , they decided to move back to Colorado and closed their business.
Bob retired from full time work but not being able to just relax, drove the shuttle bus part time for the Medical Center of Aurora South .He followed that by working part time for the City of Aurora at Meadow Hills Golf Course as a Marshal and continued to do so until his death.
Bob loved his family, the Lord, golf, his country, cruises, traveling, and hanging out on the deck with neighbors/friends/relatives, a Manhattan & a good cigar.
He was very active in his church and for a number of years volunteered as an instructor in the Religious Education Program of Children and later in the RCIA Program for Adults. He was also an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
